Objectives

The Master’s course Environmental management and communication. Education, green jobs, circular economy aims to:

  • qualify the professionality of those who are active, or who wish to enter in enterprises and corporations, associations and foundations which are operating in favour of the sustainability in order to acquire new knowledge and skills needed to manage and communicate sustainability.
  • provide a multidisciplinary preparation in the realm of the natural, physical an territorial sciences, of the social, political, juridical and economical sciences, of the pedagogical an educational sciences and of the methodological-didactical sciences in order to address sustainable corporate and territorial policies.
  • meet to the strongly-felt needs expressed by those who are interested in sustainability management and communication, in dealing with complex intervention models, in order to single out the most adequate action procedures, according to a close specialised cultural inspection.

Addressees

The course is addressed to those who possess a graduate degree or an equivalent degree. The minimum number of participants is 19 and the maximum number is 25. The candidates will be selected considering their qualifications and their experience.

It is also possible to attend single modules, prior approval of the Scientific Board.

Curriculum

The content of the Master’s course is articulated as follows:

  • 7 teaching modules ( 40 CFU, University Credits ), corresponding to 320 hours of lessons (120 hours taught at distance and 200 hours in class), and to 680 hours of personal studying;
  • a 250-hour internship experience ( 15 CFU ), with guided reflection in class ( 25 hours ), personal documentation and re-elaboration of the practical experiences ( 100 hours ).
  • Project work activities, activities and final exam ( 5 CFU ).

  • Climate change, problems and strategies. Air quality
  • Water management: the integrated cycle of water. Water quality.
  • Energy for life: alternative energy sources and waste cycle.
  • Land use: soil management and use
  • Human health: prevention and environmental health risk
  • Biodiversity and natural systems
  • Education: integral ecology

2. Sustainability communication and perception:

  • Strategies and tools of environmental communication
  • Environmental risk communication and prevention
  • Negotiation in conflicts
  • Pedagogical research for the environment

3. Governance for sustainability and resilience

  • Environmental policy. Environmental policy and law
  • Environmental sociology and territorial development
  • Smart city: urban systems and urban planning
  • Resilience management. Institutional processes of sustainable development
  • European project planning. Education and evaluation

4. Circular economy and sustainable business:

  • Green and circular economy: growth and innovation
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: company and education
  • Voluntary instruments (audit, environmental certification, sustainability balance sheet)

5. Green marketing and new lifestyles:

  • Place branding and development of a territorial integrated plan

Organisation of the Master

The lectures  will be given usually in Brescia at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. The subjects will be taught by university lecturers and by particularly qualified professionals which are recognised as privileged witnesses in the fields of interest to the Master.

The lectures will begin In January 2017.

The Master includes stage activities, as well as laboratories, the elaboration of a final essay and the preparation for the final exam.  

The attendance is compulsory. Absences are admitted up to 35% for each of the mentioned didactical activities.

Final Degree

Those who will have completed the expected educational itinerary and who will obtain positive results for the final evaluations, will be awarded the first level Master’s Degree in
